This is well written and I like how you have structured your thoughts and analysis. I like your comment “China is the destination” because although I’m not sure they will get us there, it’s clear the tech oligarchy is ready to abandon American values and is deeply envious of the Chinese system and culture. It’s almost like the “Chinese democracy” meme failed and that meant it had to be replaced by “American police state” for capitalism to keep working.
